Sandpiper Bay sits on a wide, quiet stretch of Mid-Beach between the Faena District and Bal Harbour, where Collins Avenue slows down and the ocean takes over. Forty years on, the resort still runs on the same idea: unhurried service, rooms that face the water, and a beach you never have to share with the public.
The 2024 renovation added the Bay Villas, the Horizon adults-only infinity pool and the Tidewater Spa, while keeping the terrazzo, the brass and the bird on the door.
Rooms, suites, villas and penthouses
Our entry room looks west over Indian Creek and the Biscayne Bay skyline, which means the sunsets are yours. Terrazzo floors, a rain shower and a furnished Juliet balcony.

Four penthouses crown the tower, each with a 1,200 sq ft terrace, an outdoor kitchen and a view that runs from South Beach to Bal Harbour. Private elevator access and a butler on call.
Rates are in US dollars, per room per night, before 14% combined state, county and Miami Beach taxes and the $48 nightly resort fee. Summer season runs May 1 to October 31; winter season runs November 1 to April 30; holiday peak covers December 20 to January 3, Art Week (first week of December), Presidents' Day weekend and March 7 to 22. Children 12 and under stay free in existing bedding. Every room is non-smoking.

Our executive chef and a team of forty cook from a Florida larder: stone crab in season, Keys pink shrimp, Homestead citrus, and whatever came off the day boats at Haulover.
Signature oceanfront restaurant
Open-fire cooking on a terrace that runs the length of the beach. The tasting menu changes with the tide table; the à la carte keeps the classics, from whole roasted snapper to the 1984 key lime pie.
Peruvian and Cuban cooking, a raw bar, and a chef's counter that seats eight. Lunch and dinner, 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
Sunset cocktails, a 40-label rum list and live music Thursday to Saturday. Guests 21 and over after 8:00 pm.

Twelve treatment rooms, two couples' suites, a traditional hammam and a hydrotherapy circuit with a cold plunge, all opening onto a relaxation deck over the dunes. The signature Sandpiper Ritual (90 minutes, $395) combines a sea-salt polish, a warm-shell massage and a scalp treatment.

Check-in is from 4:00 pm and check-out is by 11:00 am. Early check-in is subject to availability at no charge; guaranteed early check-in from 10:00 am is $125. Late check-out to 2:00 pm is $75 and to 4:00 pm is 50% of the nightly rate, both subject to availability. Sandpiper Society Pearl and Gold members receive late check-out to 2:00 pm free.
The resort fee is $48 per room per night plus tax. It covers beach loungers and umbrellas, pool and beach towels, kayaks and paddleboards, the fitness studio and daily classes, sunrise yoga, Wi-Fi, racquet courts, the house car within three miles, bicycle use, local and toll-free calls, in-room coffee and a daily newspaper on request.
Flexible rates can be cancelled free of charge up to 72 hours before arrival (3:00 pm local time); after that, one night plus tax is charged. Villas, penthouses and holiday-peak stays require 14 days' notice. Advance-purchase rates are non-refundable. Group bookings follow their contract.
Valet parking is $55 per night with unlimited in-and-out privileges; self-parking in the garage is $38 per night. Six EV chargers are available at no extra cost for valet guests. Day visitors to the restaurants receive three hours of validated valet.
Yes. Dogs under 40 lb are welcome in Bay View and Ocean View rooms and in the Bay Villas for a $150 cleaning fee per stay, maximum two dogs per room. We provide a bed, bowls and a map of the dog-friendly beach at 80th Street. Service animals are always welcome at no charge.
Very. Children 12 and under stay free in existing bedding and eat breakfast free at Driftwood. The Little Pipers Kids Club (ages 4 to 12) runs 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Cribs are free; rollaway beds are $50 per night and fit in Oceanfront Double Queens, suites and villas. The Horizon pool and The Nest after 8:00 pm are for guests 21 and over.
The registered guest must be 21 or older with government-issued photo ID and a credit card in the same name. An incidentals hold of $150 per night (suites and villas $300 per night) is placed at check-in and released within 5 to 7 business days after departure.
Our 400 feet of beachfront is reserved for resort guests, with loungers, umbrellas and beach butlers included. Cabanas at the beach and the Horizon pool cost $250 to $450 per day depending on season and include a fruit platter, a bottle of still and sparkling water, and a dedicated attendant.
Ten rooms are fully accessible with roll-in showers; all public areas, pools (with lifts) and Driftwood are step-free; beach wheelchairs and a beach mat to the water's edge are available from the beach hut. Let us know your needs when booking.
From June 1 to November 30 our Hurricane Guarantee applies: if the National Hurricane Center issues a hurricane warning for Miami-Dade County during your stay, or for your arrival date, you may cancel or shorten your stay without penalty and unused prepaid nights are refunded in full.
Yes. Private transfers in a Mercedes V-Class are $120 each way from MIA and $190 from FLL, for up to six guests. Book at least 24 hours ahead. Penthouse rates include transfers from MIA.
